Tschetter Sulzer

Associate Attorney Lindsay Jasper has been assisting our clients with their landlord/tenant issues since joining the Firm in 2004, and is well-known to Colorado’s Subsidized Housing providers as the go-to resource for clients navigating the complicated requirements associated with Federal and State-funded housing. Lindsay is also heavily involved in the Firm’s Fair Housing practice, appearing regularly before the Colorado Civil Rights Division to assist our clients in defending against claims of Fair Housing discrimination, and has extensive experience in eviction law, both for housing providers and commercial landlords.

In addition to her legal practice Lindsay is a dedicated educator, frequently presenting Workshops to both clients and housing organizations across the state. Literally thousands of property managers and leasing professionals in Colorado have learned the ins-and-outs of Fair Housing laws from Lindsay, and her Subsidized Evictions Boot Camp is required curriculum for any Managers overseeing Federally-funded communities.

Originally hailing from Iowa, Lindsay first arrived in Denver in 1999 after enrolling at the University of Denver School of Law. While in law school, Lindsay served as a student attorney for The Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center, where she was a Guardian Ad Litem for over two years, as well as being a participating member of P.I.L.G. (Public Interest Law Group). Lindsay’s passion for the law is rooted in her love for the challenges of advocacy and litigation, and because it challenges her mentally and brings new challenges every day.

When she’s not helping our clients, you’ll probably find Lindsay spending time with her family. Lindsay takes great pride in serving as Soccer Mom, Volleyball Mom, and Dog Mom, and if her family isn’t spending the weekend at sporting events, gardening or enjoying the great outdoors, you’ll probably find her and her husband at one of Colorado’s many local breweries.

Karen Harvey is a Senior Associate Attorney at Tschetter Sulzer PC with 30 years of legal experience, and has been representing landlords for the last two and a half decades. Before joining the Firm in 2013, Karen served as in-house counsel for a large Colorado property management company for fifteen years.

Karen’s substantive experience allows her to offer a diverse set of skills for the Firm’s clients, with expertise in document review/drafting (including residential and commercial leases as well as management agreements) and Fair Housing defense. For the past 10 years, Karen has assisted the National Apartment Association & Colorado Apartment Association with updating its Colorado lease, and keeping the NAA apprised of the many legal changes Colorado’s rental industry has experienced over the past decade.

A native Chicagoan, Karen graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago with a BA in Criminal Justice and received her JD from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law. Karen and her family moved to Colorado in 1997 and have resided in Grand Junction, where she operates a satellite office for the Firm, since 2016.

A true Denver native, Rachel joined the Tschetter Sulzer legal team in July 2014. Prior to joining the Firm Rachel was a Deputy Public Defender for the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender, a position that afforded her the opportunity to acquire extensive litigation experience in County and District Courts, as well as invaluable negotiation, investigative, and advocacy skills.

Rachel’s background as a criminal defense attorney gives her a unique perspective on the challenges our clients can face when residents break the law. By utilizing her knowledge of both civil AND criminal laws and procedures, Rachel can help clients craft practical, holisitic solutions when dealing with drug issues, resident hostility, thefts, or any other criminal issues that may come up at a rental property.

In addition to being one of our top trial attorneys, Rachel also devotes significant time to educating clients. Rachel leads all of the Firm’s Evictions Workshops, and helps clients with private classes on topics including Meth-Affected Properties, the Warranty of Habitability, and all matters relating to Evictions.

Rachel earned her Juris Doctor from the Sturm College of Law University of Denver in 2011 and received a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Colorado at Boulder in 2007. She currently lives in Denver with her husband and two miniature dachshunds who have become the firm’s unofficial mascots. The family of four enjoy being outside, hiking, traveling, and exploring new Colorado hotspots.

Kory J. Cook is a Texas native who grew up in Grapevine, a suburb of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and attended the University of Texas at Arlington where he received his undergraduate BA degree in History. His love of the outdoors and the mountains, in particular, motivated him to move to Wyoming to attend graduate school.

Prior to law school, while establishing his Wyoming residency, Kory worked as a ski-lift operator at Snowy Range Ski Area seasonally and continued to do so part-time while attending law school. In the summer, he volunteered for the Wyoming Conservation Corps where he could enjoy working outdoors while gaining diverse and hands-on experience in natural resource and environmental management.

Kory received his Juris Doctorate (JD) from the University of Wyoming College of Law and is a member of the Colorado Bar. During law school, Kory participated in a wide range of on-the-job legal work that afforded him the opportunity to gain first-hand experience with clients and in court. He spent time working with multiple ADAs on various criminal prosecutions both in the office and courtroom. He also had the opportunity to work with the City Attorney to resolve civil and employment legal issues. One of his interesting work experiences was working for the University of Wyoming Department of Compliance in the Athletic Department ensuring that the University was in compliance with NCAA regulations. All of these out-of-classroom experiences have provided Kory with the day-to-day practicalities of practicing law and working with clients. It has affirmed for Kory that he made the right decision to become an attorney and it has honed his commitment to his chosen profession of practicing law.

Kory enjoys the fast-paced challenge of landlord law and enjoys working with the Firm’s diverse client base. Kory loves living in Colorado where he can indulge his interests in hiking, backpacking, cycling, and snowboarding. In addition to enjoying all things outdoors, Kory is an enthusiastic practitioner of the culinary arts and loves to cook.

Christopher joined the Tschetter Sulzer legal team as an Attorney and Counselor at Law after admission to the Colorado Bar in October of 2016. However, this Kansas City native has been with the firm as a legal intern since January of 2015. Prior to his internship with TS, Christopher interned for a District Court Judge where he acquired first hand experience with civil litigation cases. Following this initial internship, Chris interned at TS while also participating in internship positions with two other law firms where he expanded his familiarity of civil litigation as well as working on cases of attorney malpractice. These multiple internships provided him with first hand practical experience to work in firms with diverse areas of practice and give him the opportunity to identify the area of law that he wanted to practice. Based on these experiences Chris realized that he had a natural aptitude for landlord law. This fact, plus his appreciation of the team-like environment at Tschetter Sulzer led Christopher to pursue a career with the Firm.

Chris received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado Denver and his Juris Doctorate from Sturm College of Law at Denver University. While attending UCD as an undergraduate, Christopher managed a Pizza Hut where he learned valuable life lessons about business, communication, and customer service. After graduating from UCD and prior to attending law school, Chris took a three year hiatus from school and utilized his business degree to work in the private sector acquiring practical real life experiences. While in law school, Christopher competed on the DU Trial Team, joined the Sports & Entertainment Law Journal as a Staff Editor, and helped judge mock trials at local high schools before becoming a peer mentor to incoming law students.

Christopher believes he was always destined to become an attorney as he considers himself to be a problem solver and advocate; and it shows in his keen interest in litigation. One of his professional goals is to try (and win, of course) a case in front of the Supreme Court of Colorado. Chris is the middle child in his family with an older sister and younger brother and as such he learned to appreciate the skill of mediation. In his free time, Christopher enjoys writing sci-fi short stories, harkening back to his first job where he worked at Mile High Comics when he was fourteen years old.

Jonathon Carlson joins Tschetter Sulzer as an experienced trial attorney. Prior to joining the Firm, he primarily practiced juvenile, criminal, and domestic relations law. In 2013, Jonathon was nominated for and awarded Jefferson County’s prestigious George Holley Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. His experience with litigation involving family law provides him with the skills and knowledge to artfully negotiate agreements and issues between landlords and tenants, which makes him a valuable asset to both the TS team and the Firm’s clients.

Growing up in Michigan as the oldest of three boys, Jonathon was unwittingly honing his mediation and litigation skills from a young age. He recognized his passion for the law while attending the University of Arizona where he graduated Cum Laude with a BA degree in Political Science. He returned to his home state to attend Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan where he became a Dean’s Scholar. During law school, Jonathon interned with the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Division and also with one of the Wayne County Criminal Division Judges. Additionally, throughout much of his law school graduate studies, he law-clerked at a private law practice. In combination, these valuable experiences provided him with important insight into the difference a good attorney can make in the lives of their clients. This insight instilled in him a core commitment to always aggressively advocate for his clients and to consistently pursue ways to hone his legal skill set.

The Firm’s legal team, as well as our clients, benefit from Jonathon’s years of experience negotiating intense, personal legal conflicts under pressure in difficult situations. When asked what led him to join the TS’ team, Jonathon said, “I like the variety of challenges to my legal abilities that the Firm offers. I don’t want to be a lawyer who just sits in an office dispensing legal advice five days a week. I love meeting with clients and the challenge of dealing with the diversity of legal issues that clients bring to us, and going to court in a different county every day. The bottom line is that I get a lot of personal satisfaction from helping clients prevail in legal actions that help and protect their business.”

When he’s not in court or at the office working with clients, Jonathon enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and enjoying an assortment of winter sports with his wife, Danielle. You can often catch him hitting the slopes at Winter Park, mixing it up with both skis and snowboard.

June Torres is an Associate Attorney assisting our clients with their various legal needs.

Originally hailing from sunny Arizona, June first developed her interest in the law while working as a paralegal at the Law Offices of Severino Rodarte while attending Arizona State University, managing cases and communicating with clients to help facilitate positive outcomes in their legal matters. After developing her passion for the law with this early formative experience, June went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from ASU’s Justice Studies program, and soon departed for Boulder where she attended the University of Colorado Law School.

In law school, June gained valuable experience in several different areas of the law while interning for the University Counsel’s office and an international Mining company based in Denver. She also gained valuable first-hand trial experience while interning for US District Court Judge Christine Arguello.

June’s practice includes supporting TS clients throughout the eviction process. June regularly appears at returns across the Denver and Boulder metro region, and regularly represents our clients before the county court judges when matters are contested. June should also be very familiar to the Firm’s Spanish-speaking clients, as she is fluent in Spanish (and French).

Hannah first joined the TS team in October 2022 and began representing our clients when she was admitted to the bar in May 2023.  She regularly appears in county courts across the state to represent our clients at their eviction returns, including virtual appearances in many distant mountain communities and the Western Slope.  Outside of court, Hannah has focused on helping clients with detail-focused Security Deposit disputes and Small Claims cases, and she also helps our Mobile Home and Manufactured Community clients in facing their unique issues and requirements.

Hailing from the greater Houston, TX area, Hannah completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, before relocating to her new home of Denver, Colorado to attend the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law.  One of the more formative experiences of this period was her time serving as a Legislative Aide to State Representative Gene Wu, where she was able to see first-hand the process by which policy ideas grow and develop into laws. This experience gave Hannah a passion for policy, a passion that will serve our clients well in the constantly changing legal environment our clients find themselves in.

When not representing our clients and helping them with their legal needs, Hannah enjoys spoiling her Black Ragdoll cat Jacques and showing off her “really hardcore” skiing skills across Colorado’s front range.

Oscar Brueckner is a dedicated and experienced lawyer with a passion for serving the legal needs of his clients. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Vermont Law School in 2021, following his undergraduate degree in psychology from Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire, where he graduated in 2019.

During his time at Vermont Law School, Oscar gained valuable experience interning with the Denver public defender’s office in 2020. Working under the supervision of skilled attorneys, he dedicated himself to defending indigent clients in criminal matters, further honing his legal skills and developing a strong sense of empathy and advocacy.

Oscar has been licensed to practice law in Colorado since 2021. His previous experience includes representing owners and property management companies in evictions and collections, where he successfully litigated eviction cases and collection cases for his clients. This work has been particularly fulfilling for Oscar as he finds satisfaction in obtaining favorable results for landlords and is deeply interested in the ever-changing legislation in this field.

Outside of his professional work, Oscar enjoys spending his free time engaging in outdoor activities such as cycling and hiking. Growing up in New England, he is an avid Red Sox fan and additionally channels his creativity by playing the drums. With a love for nature and exploration, Oscar has also made it a goal to visit as many US National Parks as possible, having already been to 18 in his life.

With his diverse background and strong work ethic, Oscar Brueckner is dedicated to providing effective and zealous representation to all Tschetter Sulzer clients, ensuring their legal needs are met with expertise and compassion.

Born in the picturesque landscapes of Colorado, Rider A. Daily grew up with a profound appreciation for nature and the outdoors. Nurturing a strong academic inclination, Rider ventured out of state to attend Santa Clara University in California for his undergraduate studies, where he excelled in his coursework and developed a keen interest in law and justice.

Following his passion, Rider returned to his home state to pursue a Juris Doctor degree at the University of Colorado Boulder, renowned for its rigorous law program. His time at CU Boulder not only trained his legal mind but also reaffirmed his commitment to the law.

While his legal career is rooted in Colorado, Rider’s passion for law and adventure has drawn him across the globe. In Tanzania, he embarked on a transformative service trip to Dar es Salaam, the vibrant capital city. For two weeks, he dedicated his time and energy to supporting local daycare teachers, enriching the lives of children during the weekdays, and lending a helping hand to doctors during health checkups on the weekends. This immersion in community service abroad offered Rider an invaluable perspective on the global community and the importance of assisting others which continues to inform his worldview and professional ethos.

Outside the courtroom, Rider is an avid hiker and gourmet cook. His weekends are often spent exploring new trails or experimenting with recipes in his kitchen. This blend of outdoorsmanship and culinary interest not only keeps him physically active but also provides a creative outlet.

Rider’s deep-rooted love for Colorado, his community, and the world beyond drives his dedication to law and justice, making him a distinguished advocate and a respected member of the community. Whether navigating legal landscapes, the natural terrain of the Rocky Mountains, or the cultural tapestries of far-off lands, Rider A. Daily stands out as a passionate, committed legal professional.

Zachary W. Dupuis’s journey from a history enthusiast to a proficient lawyer is a story of dedication, hard work, and a deep commitment to justice. Born and raised in Saco, Maine, Zachary nurtured a keen interest in history from a young age, which eventually led him to pursue a degree in the subject. He graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in History from the University of Southern Maine in 2021, a testament to his academic commitment and passion for understanding the past and its implications on the future.

Taking a leap forward into law, Zachary participated in the University of Southern Maine’s accelerated law program, allowing him to begin his legal studies in his final year of undergrad. This unique pathway led him to the University of Maine School of Law, where he further honed his legal acumen, culminating in his graduation in May of 2023.

Zachary’s professional journey is marked by significant experiences that have shaped him into the lawyer he is today. While pursuing his studies, he worked as a Paralegal at Taylor, McCormack, and Frame in Portland, Maine. Here, Zachary was involved in various aspects of civil litigation, business administration, evictions, and employment law, building a strong foundational knowledge that would serve him well throughout his career.

In the latter part of his law education, Zachary embraced the opportunity to work as a Student Attorney at UMaine Law’s Juvenile Justice Clinic. It was in this role that Zachary’s passion for advocacy and justice truly flourished. He diligently represented minors facing charges in Maine’s juvenile court system, practicing criminal defense with a sensitivity and determination that underscored his commitment to his clients. Furthermore, Zachary extended his skills to protect and represent families in dire circumstances at Protection from Abuse hearings, even leading one family to succeed at trial.

Beyond the courtroom and his academic achievements, Zachary is deeply connected to his roots in Saco, Maine. His lifelong ties to the community have fostered a profound appreciation for the outdoors and recreational activities. Spending quality time with his partner and dog, Zachary enjoys cooking, hiking, skiing, and rock climbing, embracing the natural beauty and challenges that these hobbies offer.
